I'm still a bit sick, but it's mostly throaty. I went to the doctor's on Tuesday. It took him a whole 2 minutes to conclude it was a viral infection that has now passed and now I just need to wait out the sore throat getting better in its own time. I think he felt awkward that I was getting charged $60 just for him to tell me that, so he sai, "anything else wrong?" and proceeded to check out some moles in case they were exhibiting signs of melanoma. Which they weren't. But it was amusing. Nice doctor :)

My big news is that I learnt to surf yesterday.

In the morning I babysat for a family from church and that was pretty good. The kids are great! I went to Myer to run an errand. Met with Alys for lunch, which was very lovely. Finished doing my errands, then went home to read through this trashy mag I bought for a friend in the USA. James came by at 4pm, and we headed to the beach together.

He's brought some straps to hold a surf board on the roof of his car, whilst the other was kinda squished in the car with various seats down. We went to Cotteloe, got out the surfboards, and walked down to the water. It was pretty tricky staying balanced and when I was just sitting on the board, I still fell off a few times. The first wave I caught, I just stayed lying on it. The second, I managed to get on my knees. I think it was the fourth wave that I managed to stand up. It's hard to go from lying down to standing up in one motion. James managed to catch a few waves and stand on his board, but he was the one teaching me. I mention this because I'm envious.

I should update you all on the happenings in my life.

On Thursday night I did a night shift at subway, then I got home bout 11ish, went to bed and then didn't actually get to sleep until 1ish, because Dad decided that would be a good time to watch TV loudly until. Then I woke up at 5 on Friday morning, so Dad could drive me to the train station to get to work by 6. BLEH!

I don't like back to back shifts. But I had good time on the train to read my Bible and pray. So I was very blessed in that regard. Also, continual blessings in that I stayed rather cheerful for most of the day. I left at 2, called a taxi to pick me up, and I made my way to kid-sit for the weekend. Looked after those kids I'd sitted for two weeks and then one week with [info]leshara previously. Because they already knew me, the weekend was pretty smooth.

The only complaints from me, was Andrews continual grumpy attitude towards EVERYTHING and the exhaustion of only getting 4hrs sleep in between two shifts and going straight to kid-sitting. But I went to bed at 8:30 after the two youngest were in bed, so I was happy. The oldest two are very responsible, and so got themselves off to bed well enough.

Saturday I worked from 6-2 again. I had a LOT of bread to bake as rugby was on that night, so work was very busy. And then when I got home, I had a nap, and potted about a bit. We watched a movie that night and Andrew and Simon stayed up a bit longer than I would have liked. But that was due to me not having dessert ready on time (I promised them, so I couldn't renege).

Sunday we went to church. That was pretty cool. Then we came home and pottered about until Wendy and Ian arrived home from Sydney at about 3:15. Wendy then drove me to Ian's (different Ian) so I could grab a lift to kid's church with him, because this whole time, my car had been out of action thanks to a bad battery and alternator. Ian had been stupid by not getting sleep. And he didn't have Malcolm's car to use, so his Mum let me drive her car. And that was a bit weird, as I'm so used to driving a manual. I kept wanting to put in the clutch, but there wasn't one to put in. :P

Kids church was a piece of cake. I was looking after the little fish, and they are so cute. Then unichurch afterwards was really good. [info]greygnome had rocked up, so he was thankfully able to give me a lift home! yay! Then home I went, checked updates, went to bed. Then went to work this morning from 10am, until 4pm. And now I'm updating you on my week. :D

Experimental food
I tried a couple of different things over the weekend.
-Friday: Lamb and Banana curry.
A bit too spicy for Andrew, but with a hint of banana, very nice. Had it with spiced hot chocolate that the kids didn't like, but I did, so more for me! =D
-Saturday: Crumbed Chicken.
Done with bread crumbs, coconut, oats and ginger. The kids all really liked this one. But the chicken took forever to defrost, so dinner was a little late. :P
-Sunday: Apple Pancakes.
Nicolas didn't like them, and Andrew apparently wasn't hungry, but Rachel, Andrew and I had our fill. Easy peasy, sliced apple mixed in with a thinner pancake mix and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on the top as they're cooking!
-Monday: Crusted Lamb Chops
I volunteered dinner cooking tonight at home. So I did herb crusted lamb chops. Didn't turn out as I had in mind, but the family really enjoyed them anyway! Also, it was hard to get them all cooked uniformly as the heat was being weird and others were really thick cuts. But all good in the end.

I finished the book of Nahum on Friday. It was interesting. A reminder of how separate sin and God are and how offensive it is to him. But with that, also comes his grace and forgiveness. God had given the Ninevites many opportunities to turn back to him, but his judgment wont be held off forever. So I was encouraged to take evangelism a bit more seriously. Also, for those who have repented, the judgment that we would have faced, has already been faced in fullness, by Jesus on the cross. And just as the Ninevites faced God's wrath, so will the world. Jesus came bringing a message of peace to those who would be reconciled to God. But also a message of warning to those who ignored him or rejected him.

ALSO! Chesca, Emily and Chan, you're invited to ma berfday par-tay. Along with your significant others of course. 30th of June. Put it in your diaries!

OMG!
So, I'm now at home *sleeps*
I'm going to get food and then continue to update. Lol. Nope, can't be bothered. And also, there's nothing in the fidge... cept for some old old grapes. :P

SO! Last weekend was the youth group camp. Very intense. I went to work until 4, drove around like a mad chook buying some paint, drove to the Law's (name changed) to pick up Rachel and Nic for camp. Drove to church hall. Also, made subs for Me, Rach and Nic for dinner. Spent an hour or so faffing around getting ready, then drove to Moore River for the camp. It was stressfull and VERY busy, but oh-so-worth it. I think the kids got a lot out of it. And it was a lot of fun. We went rafting and did a bunch of games. We had a talk on Saturday morning and then another one in the evening. Ali and I had a group of three girls, and on Friday and Saturday nights, we prayed with them. Ali and I shared a room, and it was really really nice spending time with Ali. Because Ali is just the niceset sweetest person (right up there with Anna... don't ask me to choose. They're both so very lovely). A couple of people I didn't expect to be there were there too. Like Chelsea and Shiloh. But I'm glad they came, and hope they got a lot out of it.

We drove down on Sunday after cleaning the place. My team totally pwned the floors (sweeping and mopping)!! :D The got back to the church, unpacked and got Rach, Nic and myself back to their house, where I lived with the kids and Lise for a week while their parents were in Mauritius. I love the Law kids to pieces. They are awesome. Andrew is in yr 2, Simon yr 5, Nic yr 7 and Rach in yr 10. So big age range, but it means Lise and I only really had to worry about Andrew and Simon. It was very exhausting though. Straight from youth group camp to babysitting the kids. And when I wasn't looking after the kids, I was at subway. GAH! But Lise had it no better with work (two shifts I think, as opposed to my 5) and also uni assignments to get through. And she had to miss out on a couple of lectures too. :(

But we had lots of fun (exhausting fun) and we both dearly love those kids. Makes me want to have a family one day.

On that note. I have no idea what I want out of life anymore. I know that I want to be a teacher, and I know that wherever I am and whatever I'm doing, I want to be praying and reading my Bible and continuing in my relationship with God, because He's the awesomest and I love Him SO much. But, anything else, I don't know what I want.

I'm going to be housesitting a house from Monday for 5 weeks and I'm looking forward to it. It's a really nice house in Nedlands. The backyard looks like a cottage. They're kind in the middle of renevations. So there are some light fixtures that don't work and there's only some planks of wood on stands to serve as the kitchen bench, but I think it's very quaint and I love it!

So today is my recoup day after my extrodinary week of insane business.

Oh, Down With Love is a very charming movie and I recommend it for a fluffy romantic comedy with a fun twist. It's very stylised and overacted - but on purpose and the end effect it great.

Relient K new cd is very good. I'm listening to a couple of songs over the interwebs. They're good. I hae their last two cds, so I might have to get this one too.

hey check out these articles.
This one is on transplanting lymph nodes which could be very useful for aids and cancer patients.
This article is on recycling CO2 and using it for fuel.

I  my New Scientist news updates. It's encouraging to hear of people trying to sort out problems in the world. And it's all very ground breaking stuff.

Anyway, I'm off to work, and then to drop stuff off at babysitting house where I'll be for a week with Lise. Then I'm off to youth group camp. Pray for me yeah?

Edit 9:07
man I hate packing for camps. And I'm not just packing for camp, but for the following week too. I suppose it's not too important as I'll have time to go home on monday... but still! *sigh* packing is teh suck

Hey everyone. Babysitting at the moment. Is going ok. The little girl woke up a little while ago, but went to sleep again quickly. The husband is releasing an album tonight I think, or something, it's a debut. I ordered pizza, and have eaten said pizza. Went shopping today and bought 3 dresses and a nice cardigan. Yay for dresses. I also waxed my legs. Yay. Although, it was a home job and as i haven't had my legs waxed in ages, it didn't turn out so good. But i think I'm going to make this long term, as i no longer want to shave. Touch typing is becoming easier as i practice more.

*sigh* what else. I'm working a double shift on tuesday. Bleh. daylight savings starts soon eh? bleh, one hour less of sleep. *crap* this is an eclectic entry. i wonder when exam results get it. I'm sure i've failed. I think so far, i'm going to take the semester off, but i don't want to do that. Funnily enough, i'd prefer studying somethin else instead. I dunno what though, boo. But maybe working full time again could be good. My car needs a service. It isn't running too well, it's stalling randomly, and every now and then the air-con cuts out, and the power steering fluid is still leaking. boo.

*tired*

it's finished. No, not exams. The 2 weeks of babysitting. Yay! Andrew, the youngest at 7 was getting rather annoying, what with the crying at the drop of a hat. Blah.
I will miss the two eldest though. Rachel was crying when Lise and I left. aww. Rachel was great. We had a heap of fun. Because Lise is such a trusted friend, I've pretty much been telling her every thought that pops into my head. And now she's not around to do that to. *sad* I'll just have to tell you lot on el-jay.

Exam on Wednesday still to go. Blah. Is jap and I NEED to study for it.

Went to Little Creatures last night with Matt and Intan and them bunch. Had great pizza! Had a good time.

Why are there so many skanks in freo!?!?! Why do people dress up like complete whores!?!?!?!

GAH!

I'm going to fail EDU113(into to Sci.). It's too easy, that I haven't been bothered to do any work on it at all. I don't mind taking it next year, as I don't think it'll add much to my work load. So I'm not going to the EDU113 exams.

I'm so over uni.

Should pass (just) both EDU101(intro to education) and JPN172(Japanese 2).
Have the Japan oral today., Hopefully should go ok.

Looking after these kids is hard work. They energy from the moment they get up, to when they go to sleep. It's exhausting, and I'm way more tired than I usually am. I had 9hrs sleep last night, but still had a nap as soon as I'd gotten the kids off to school. Thank God for Lise doing this with me. I wouldn't have anyone else.

It is a lot of fun, we had a great fun dinner last night. It's just so exhausting. I wish the two youngest would slow down a bit. Everything is NOW NOW NOW!!!! Listen to everything I have to say because it's VERY important NOW! And Andrew, the youngest, cries all the time! He's just so sensitive.

I'm so tired, and I don't care about uni so much, which sucks, because I want to be a teacher, I just don't want to jump through these crappy hoops that they set. It's so f***ing stupid! *insert more expletives about how insane these units are*

The only unit I really enjoy is Japanese, and I'm scared that I'm going to fail it too.

*sigh*

Oral, then straight home to supervise the kiddies, then sunday school bible study pool party, o supervise 10+ kids in a pool, then home for dinner, then nag Simon and Andrew till they go to bed.

Also, thank God the two oldest are pretty much self-sufficient. I love those two!
I love the youngest two too, just more annoying.

EDIT: I know my grammer = teh sucky. On Sunday night I had a serious problem with stringing sentances together. They all came out as words with no conjuctions. And I forgot all the kids names, so I called all of them "sonny Jim"
