I went climbing last night with Jason and Josh and had a blast. It was such good fun. I bought a climbing harness and the difference between the ones you borrow and the ones you buy are HUGE! I'm so so so glad I have my own harness. Jason had a new one too and both of us were like "yeah, we can swing around up here for a while and it ISN'T uncomfortable!" So that was pretty rad.

This morning I woke up at 5:30 to ride my bike to Cott beach for an early morning swim as I do on Friday mornings and that was rad too! Super dooper cold though. The water was eerily warmish when I first got in, but it quickly got very cold. Malcolm and I swam around the pylon to warm up a bit, which worked, but when we stopped swimming it was very cold again. I don't think I've ever been that cold actually - none of my body worked properly: I tried speaking and my mouth would skip words from a sentence, I was hobbling because I couldn't feel my feet and my hands wouldn't grab things. I was so glad to get to the Blue Duck. I went into the bathroom and put my hands under the warm air from the hand dyer for a while.
But it was so worth it and I intend on doing it again next week! Truly the highlight of my week - good friends, good times and good food. But mostly doing stupid things with a fantastic group of friends is excellent.

Did a thing for MCU after a hot bath back at home, then went to work and started to feel a bit ill. I think it was a combination of frustration over my assignment due Monday and a very cold, early morning. It was odd though: my ears were popping, I felt a bit queasy and I think I was running a temperature. I would get really cold if it were remotely cool, or really warm if I would otherwise be comfortable. So I went home early and that been nice. I'm working on my assignment now (cept for the LJ updating).

Finally, I made risotto in my rice cooker this evening and it turned out pretty well! I cooked an onion in a pan and added the rice to that with some white wine. Then I put that mixture into my rice cooker with chicken stock, diced chicken and more wine and it came out really good! I added some peas and tarragon last in the "keep warm" phase so that my peas wouldn't end up mushy and there was enough moisture and heat to defrost/cook them. So that was highly successful and easy! It's like a slow cooker. Speaking of which, I should use that more often. I typically love my slow cooker.

So my day has gone pretty well. Even when I was feeling a bit sick, I was still in a good mood. So praise God for that! No feeling frustrated about the issues raised in my last post. I had a great chat with Angela and we prayed about it. And I've been praying about it too. Everything is better when I'm actually active in my relationship with God and not passive. :D

Today was so hot! I did some vaccuuming, put on the laundry, tidied the lounge room and will do more tomorrow, but at 3ish, I was fed up with being in the house and headed to the beach with Boyfriend and his brother. Beach was SO GOOD! It was just the right refreshing temperature, the water was clear and the surf was good! Boyfriend and I also made a seat and sat on it until brother wanted to leave, which was early - because he's bored easily and is weak. *chuckle*

It was a really nice afternoon! I don't know when I'm next working - I think probably Wednesday as I seem to remember getting a couple of days after bustrip to recuperate. If I'm not working, I think I will continue to beach it and clean

Back home from bustrip. We arrived in Perth at about 2pm yesterday, cleaned the bus COMPLETELY so now it's totally clean! clean clean clean. Rowena came and picked me up, I had enough time to check important emails and dump my stuff before heading to the beach. Beach was SO GOOD! I was pretty tired from lack of sleep on the bus, but I hadn't had a shower in 2 nights (sounds better than three days) so it was so very refreshing to be pummelled by the waves; to be washed clean by the salt water and choppy water. I don't think a bath or shower would have done quite the same thorough job. To alleviate all you worrying about how Kat gets clean, I did have a shower afterwards with soap and shampoo. I made a pasta bake for dinner because it's easy and does not require effort. It also means I do not have to worry about lunch for the next few days. Yum! Then I went to bed at 10 and slept SO WELL! Today I need to unpack, do laundry, clean house, find cat.

Apparently Atticus has not been seen by Heather for a few days. I am not yet worried, but last time Atticus went missing, I wasn't worried until too late. So my track record with not getting worried isn't so good - boo to me. I will pray and continue to call for him.

Mission on bustrip went pretty well. I met [info]tibbycat and [info]spally and they are both very cool people! People that I would enjoy meeting again IRL. Yay! I had heaps of fun.

I probably ought to get ready for church and put on a load of washing before I go. *dies from apathy*

The past week has been super relaxing, but today I'm back at work. Mind you, I'm only working Friday and Saturday. My shifts next week at Tuesday and Saturday (though I need to swap for Saturday as I've something else on).

I officially pick up the keys for the Hamilton Hill house on Monday and start paying rent then. I'm going to move my stuff on Wednesday and maybe have a housewarming on Sunday... we'll see how that goes.

Much time has been spent at pool/beach and I have a nice tan. w00t. Probably more time will be spent at the beach given my many days off, and my move closer to. Though, it will now be at more south-beaches instead of north beaches. To be honest, I'm kinda scared of south-beaches, having never been to one before. I hope they're nice. The north ones are more popular... maybe they're good for surfing, which is good what with my desire to learn to surf. This really is a nothing update. boo to me

God answered my plea for good weather, and it was had. I ended up going to the beach anyway, and i even got a little sunburnt. But not much. It's mostly because it's hard to put sunscreen on your own back and I missed a couple of bits. But I put some cream on the sunburnt bits, and it isn't painful or anything. After beach, I had a very cold shower in the change rooms at the beach and went to a Nutrimetics party at Carly's. It was good fun and I bought Laura's Christmas present and some perfume for me! Yays!

After Carly's I went to church, and that was nice. Courtenay rocked up and it was cool having her there. She rather enjoyed it so maybe she'll come back. She's currently church-hunting so I hope she finds a good one! I have just over a month left at Unichurch, and then I'm down at the new church plant which has officially been named "Three Crosses." I'm not so happy with the name, bu I think it's growing on me. :)

Brian gave the sermon on Sunday and it was quite good! He was a little dead-pan in his manner of talking and he moved quite fast through it, but other than that, it was quite impressive for his first! *is proud of Brian* You can download it here if you're interested. Just right click and save as.

Things have been going well, but I do need to study for Japanese. I'm waiting for Hilary to come over so we can do some pilates together... so I think I will study in the meantime. :)

I'm not work again at Myer until Saturday, and I'm looking forward to the "break" from work, as it's quite a draining job. Maybe it's just because I haven't worked this hard since the RPYC (Royal Perth Yacht Club, although I was officially hired/paid by the Hyatt) and that was 2 years ago right before I broke my wrist. Since then, I've been cruising on by at Subway. Now I'm working hard again.

I helped tidy the house today. It's so nice living in a clean house! That being said, it's not so clean that it has that unlived in look. It's still a home. :)

Edit 11:35: here's a good article I just read on Spiritual Passivity for the Christian. Boundless is a good resource; I recommend it to anyone who has a bit of time and is interested in such topics pertaiting to young adult Christians.

why is it overcast Lord? I want to go to the beach today... can you please make it not overcast?

*caves to peer pressure*
I think many people where voting Labor because it meant not voting Liberal, and Liberal has been in power to long. But I really would have liked to see more minority parties being voted in.; like Greens, Democrats and Christian Democrats (whom I put as 1) I don't really like the idea of one party having such a landslide victory. I have bad bode feelings and I'm not sure why. In any event, I'm partly to blame as I also voted Labour above Liberal. I'm hoping that a few more people have voted liberal though.

*For my American readers, the Liberal party isn't the same as your Liberal party, but I don't know where the difference is

Work was very good again today. Rather satisfying.

But, my head has quite full of thoughts. *thinks a bit* oh, my head is unused to thinking thoughts. lol

Hack on Triple J is very interesting, and I enjoy listening to it most 5:30s. It makes me think. heh

Went to the beach today, and that was good too.

This post is rather... unimportant isn't it. I've half a mind to not post it at all. But what's my purpose in life but to take up space on your friends page eh?

Oh, I heard a mashup on Triple J a little while ago. It was Summer Nights and another song, and it was very funky. I found it the other day and now I'm happy. Be prepared to be subjected to it upon my 21st! mwahahahah!

Friday: I worked at Subway until 5:15. The store was supposed to close at 5, but we were rather busy all day, so we closed at 3 instead, so we could finish all our work uninterrupted. Daniela and I worked so hard and fast to get the shop clean before 5 (which we did). Then I went to Lise's where we headed off to the beach. We were both so hot! Weather was incredibly vicious. We were at the beach for about half an hour, then we needed to get to Nic's for his Aus day party/bbq. We were there for a little while then went to Leah's for a small celebration. Gene, Lise, Leah and I hung out and drank cider (I drank cider) and watched Empire Records, then fell asleep.

Saturday: Woke up at Leah's after not-much-sleep. Lise and I went to my house for me to shower etc. Then we went to Lise's. then I went to work. Home, sleep

Today! Today we spent at the beach. Was very very nice. Plenty of people turned up at about 12, which was just lovely. Some of us went to fetch some fish and chips, which we then all devoured pretty quickly. It was just really nice. Water was nice and cold, floating... more floating... sunbaking. I'm quite tanned, and a little burnt on my face.

now I have to go to kids church soon, then unichurch. Weather is still hot, it will hopefully cool down tonight. Tomorrow is beach then work. Tuesday, I'm going to learn to surf!

it has come to my attention that there are people who read my eljay, who don't actually have an eljay themselves. So instead of being lazy and just getting an eljay, where they only have to look upon their friends' page, they have me bookmarked and every now and then, read some of it. I find this amusing. So a big shout out to those of you who read this, and don't actually have an eljay yourselves. Just out of interest, could you comment, so's I can see who else is out there. I've got Sarah Thorbs, Ben Rae and Ryan. Is there anyone else?

I sort of feel like now I have to spend more time editting what I say. I guess I've written under the assumption that unless people were friending my on eljay specifically, then why would you bother to read this. It's all "rant this" and "my day that" etc. That's so boring! :P
Also, now I have to back up all those outrageous claims that I make. i know it's a surprise to you all, but I'm not actually the best person in the universe. Alternatively, I feel like posting all the crap things that I've done. For no reason whatsoever, I feel like doing all the above. :p I am teh suck.

Oh! I bought shorts today that come above my knee, and don't look bad and I'm pleased, because with all this heat, less clothes are better (unless you're in public). :)

I enjoyed church tonight. I forgot to bring my Bible along :P, but the sermon was good. It was how creation proclaims God, and then the Bible explains God. And it was interesting, because lots of people believe in a god, but not the god of the Bible. And then sometimes, when you read the Bible, it can convict you and stuff. Yeah.

Went to the beach today. I love teh beach. Water so good. Times like those I appriciate a higher BMI so I can float nicely. And then I went to a picnic, which was good. And I love picnics! Cint and I swung on the swings there, and that was fun! Then sunday school, then church, then I got a sausage, then I talked to Ben and Ryan... etc lol.

Tomorrow is baking day with the girls. I'm nervous/excited. Mostly excited, I think it'll be good fun. Although, with all the baking, it might get really hot in the house. I might ask Dad about the air-con. And then in the evening, if [info]leshara is back, I might go visit her. YAY! Not many days till she returns!!

[info]senragine is back from her camp, and she had fun. She met a girl who is in the St Matts youth group. And I'm a youth leader, so kinda cool.
