Why do I get myself into such heated arguments? Because I'm silly!

*buries head in sand*

is it gone away yet?

In other recent news, leshara and I have decided to make advent calenders together. Yay! She is coming over on Wednesday night for dinner, and then hopefully we will sit in front of the telly and watch the brilliant Wednesday ABC line up while being all crafty! Hurrah! I am so looking forward to it!

Ugh, I know. *looks at what you're talking about*

10 points for your arguments though. It makes me excited about reading the bible and finding out what it actually says.

I'm not beating myself up, merely lamenting my terrible memory for where a verse/passage is located. I refuse to get a new Bible because I know where stuff is (eg, about 4/5 of the way down on that side of the page etc) lol

Eh, I could have bowed out of the argument. And given that it's not on my LJ, I feel far less responsible for it than those that take place on mine. My question is, will you be able to beat my 60 comment record on one post!?

Heh, ah, okay. I have a couple of bibles of different translations and use usually whatever is nearest to me at the time so I'm lost when it comes to finding something specifically in a bible instantly.

Probably not just yet. I'm working on it! I think that post has probably settled down now that Brad's gone to bed. I'll beat your 60 comments record... later.. yesss.

Anyway, it's quarter past 11 over here on eastsiiiiiddeee, so I should head to bed. It was an interesting discussion (although my head hurts now). Hope you have a good night :)

meh, it's only 9:15 here, still early. I would like to get different versions, but I have Biblegateway which provides that need, and I have two different versions of Japanese, and Dad has a shelf of them... yeah. I really don't need them. lol

Although, I'm waiting for a thinline reference without red letters TNIV. I'll buy that when it comes out. Unfortunately, it's either thinline reference with red letters, or not thinline reference without red letters! *laments*

It's just after 10 am here now so it must be just after 8 am there. Hmm, if the world ends today, then I'm going to know about it before you, maybe.
I have a bible in French, it's pretty cool. When I was studying French at uni (I wasn't a Christian then) and I expressed a slight curiosity to my parents to read the bible in French they RUSHED out that same day and got me one.

I just had a look to see if I could fine what you're after, but nope, unfortunately you're right. No such thing exists at the moment. There is a new TNIV Reference bible in black letter coming out in January, but I don't think it's thinline click for linkage here

ooooh, God bless your parents! That's so caring of them. *hugs for them*

I bought a Japanese Bible at Koorong, but I was talking to my 先生 about it, and apparently it's in a form of Japanese that no one ever speaks/read, I guess much like the KJV in English. Then one of my friends has these other friends who are missionaries in Japan, but they were finishing and chucking out a bunch of stuff, and she saved me a New Testament. The cool thing about this one, it that on one side of the page, it's NKJV, and the other side is colloquial Japanese. w00t for me!

Meh, waiting for the right kind of Bible I want is fine. My old one has served me well, in fact, I recently re-covered it because the front cover was falling off. :P :D

I'm sure they jumped at the chance then to evangelize to me when I said I was curious to read it. And, just as well :)

Ah, ancient/old Japanese? Or a literary form of it? I didn't realize there was such a form.

Your bible there sounds like my French dictionary that I bought back in uni. I'm considering getting a new one as the cover has fallen off from wear and tear having been used so much.

awesome are you going to put chocolate in them?

I figure I'll make it for my family and put family-member-specific gifts in some of them, and chocolate in the others! :D

*head is full of ideas!* I'm so excited!

I've learnt that I can't discuss/argue biblical issues over the internet. It's so easy to be misunderstood and to be offended. For me at least, I need to keep these things in person. ^^

It's true. I prefer debating in real like too, but I don't know these particular people, and I cannot let truth go untold...

*shrug* I'm not going as passionate about it as I would with people I know IRL. :-)
