Restless

Recently I've been feeling a bit restless. I guess with the regularity of University that is keeping me busy and yet into a rather dull routine, it's gotten me thinking of all these grand schemes that I just cannot do, yet feel as though I need to do. With the lack of new non-uni stimuli around, I keep revisiting issues in my head, that really don't need revisiting. It makes me a bit restless.

Clare gave a small church history spot during the Bible talks run by MCU this week. She talked about how Uni students have done so much for the cause of spreading the Gospel and showing love and compassion to those around them. Yet what have I done? Bugger-all! *Sigh* So I've made it a little side-project to think of things I can do and then doing them. Is anyone interested in helping out at a Charity (like Salvos, Good Sammies, St Vinnies, whoever) for a couple of days in the Easter break? Murdoch has a week off after the Easter long weekend, and I have a hunch that other unis will have a break then too.

I figure if I get a few people together and say that we're available to volunteer for a couple of days, they'll find something for us to do. :) Maybe we could even just have a couple of cooking days where we cook super amounts of food, freeze it and then give it to those who don't have food! Imagine all the food we could make! God has blessed us with so much, and we're hoarding it as if we have no responsibility towards the poor!!

Did you know that there are 100,000 homeless Australians out there!? Yet what are you doing about it? NOTHING!

I'm looking forward to being able to do something during the holidays, and I'm praying in expectation of it happening. I wish that I was finished with my degree so I had a greater capacity to help. :)

In other news, Heather and I had a handbag party last night. There were a bunch of 'pretty' handbags and also a range of more practical things. My current bag that I take to uni is falling apart a bit at the seams and I've been thinking that I ought to get a new one sometime, so this was a good opportunity to do so. I debated over it for a while, because it was $70, which seems like a lot of money to me. But it's a very good quality bag, it has lots of space for books and more space for a laptop. I'm hoping to invest in one maybe sometime about the middle of the year. I would like to be able to take a laptop to Uni to type up my notes and write assignments when I have a break. I'm nervous still because I have committed to this large amount of money spending, but I'm looking forward to owning a specky new bag that isn't breaking. :)
