We had been thinking that James would go into academia as a theological college lecturer. And we're still going with that, but this time thinking of doing that on the mission field. We is gonna be missionaries!! YAY!! I'm SO excited about this. I've wanted to be a missionary since FOREVER. One of the reasons I said no to him asking me out was because he had no intentions towards mission work. But now he's all "let's do it!!" YAY!
So I called a mission organisation called CMS (Church Missionary Society) and have set up a meeting and we'll see how it goes. CMS is Anglican, but they're theologically solid and one of the few organisations who send people in the theological-teacher capacity. Most others that have branches in Perth send people in church-planting, evangelism capacities. Which is totally good and cool, but not how we'd like to go :)
James wanted to go to South America. But the need is more in Africa.
This is exciting. I'm excited. It's exciting and now I'm SO less worried about a bunch of stuff I was before, like houses and cars and what not. Who cares where we're gonna live, we're gonna be missionaries! BOO-YEAH! Telling people the Gospel as a whole life thing and getting paid for it. Partnering with people in prayer and support, making THIS my entire life and vocation! What could be better?? YAY!!
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
